Docker Response Issue Post Unraid 7 Update

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm hoping that someone smarter than me can enlighten me on this issue I've been having with the Unraid 7 update. I love all the additions made, however, I'm experiencing very slow response with the Docker tab loading or docker work in general. The Docker tab takes anywhere from 1 to 2 minutes to load after update when it use to load nearly instantly prior. I've upgraded and rolled back a few times hoping I could figure out the problem. Reviewing logs is not showing any red herrings. Reviewing some posts, there seems to be a fair amount of Docker issues post upgrade, but I'm not finding anything that directly relates to my issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time.

And yes, I'm an Alien nerd.

Your appdata has files on the array.

Thank you, trurl. I'm correcting this now and will post again after mover finishes.

Nothing can move open files. Disable Docker in Settings so you can work with that.

Problem persists. I stopped the Docker service, changed to preferred cache, then ran mover. Should I have it exclusively cache?

The cache drive being used is a btrfs FS, btw. I wouldn't think it makes any difference, but I thought I would mention it.

Mover won't replace files. You will have to figure out where the duplicates are.

Alrighty. I'll spend some time to figure that out. I'll get back to you when I have some time. Catching some wife aggro now.

Again, I really appreciate your help!

Have a nice rest of your day!

After you get everything on cache, exclusive might improve some. Might as well do system and domains too.

Apologize for the delayed response. This issue remains for me. Takes a solid minute + for the docker UI to load. The entire GUI locks up while it loads up the docker tab. Also for restarts, for stops...any change causes this. It doesn't matter if they are all stopped or started. Only time it loads instantly like it use to is if no docker containers are present. I thought maybe it was the folderview plugin so I removed that. Problem remained. I have made several attempts with reloading the docker image with different settings. Problem remained. I tried using different browsers thinking it was a browser issue (this is more common than you'd think in the IT world). Problem remained.  I have no significant CPU or memory utilization occurring when docker is loading up. Docker logging shows nothing. System log shows nothing.

I noticed 7.0.1 was available so I updated to that, but the problem persists. The only resolve is rolling back.  Since my use is heavily docker on my server, I'm seeing no choice but to roll back.

@trurl, thanks again for calling out the issues you noticed. These were all addressed, but even than, those configurations did not cause these problem pre 7.0. I thought maybe something fell out of compatibility but everything else works perfectly normal. It's just he docker UI.

Here is the last diag post before I roll back.

Nothing obvious, except your docker.img is many times larger than needed.
