April 17, 201214 yr Hello all, I've been running unRAID 4.7 for around 6 months now with no issues. Recently I've been experimenting with Plex on a media server, but wanted to try out the integrated unRAID version. This, of course, required me to upgrade to 5.0+. This is where my trouble started... No matter what beta release I attempted, it would always come up as Missing/Wrong Disk, Invalid Configuration, etc. After 2 hours of frustration I decided to go back to 4.7. Once I brought my unRAID server back online as 4.7, I noticed something that may be the root cause of my upgrade issue. The Model / Serial No. field for my disks on the main page just has a "-" in this column for all disks and the Temperature data is not reading either (this has always been the case, but I never really thought much of it as the array was functional). Oddly, both of these items were available during my limited time with 5.0. Could the fact that the drive info is not being read out to the main page in 4.7 be the reason why the configuration is invalid in 5.0? I would love to give 5.0 a go, but the possibility of data loss combined with my previous attempts are making me shy away. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
April 19, 201214 yr version 5 relies on the serial number of the drives for assignment to the array. If 4.7 is not showing anything and the temps are zero then that is likely the reason 5.0 is not working. Can you list your complete hardware breakdown and also post your syslog from a boot with 4.7 installed and a boot with 5.0b14 installed?
