Nginx errors in log - "/usr/local/emhttp/url("/plugins/index.html" is not found

Featured Replies

Everything in the Dashboard seems to be working for the most part but I've been seeing errors like this in the log:

Feb 18 18:33:24 server nginx: 2025/02/18 18:33:24 [error] 32372#32372: *2973157 "/usr/local/emhttp/url("/plugins/index.html" is not found (2: No such file or directory) while sending to client, client: 192.168.0.55, server: , request: "GET /url(%22/plugins/ HTTP/1.1", host: "server.local", referrer: "http://server.local/Dashboard"

Is there something going on here? Also, some of the text and icons in the upper right corner of the dashboard are very dark and almost unreadable.

Please post  unraid diagnostic...

click plugins do you have plugin errors?

image.png.138b64c9205ec2e830db94293447fd62.png

you will have a 3rd tab here if you do that failed or didn't work at boot?

The only plugin that has something out of the ordinary is FolderView. I'm not on Unraid 7.0.0 yet so I would expect it to have problems.

There is no 3rd tab in the Plugins tab for me.

Diags attached.

Thanks!

It appears your using tailscale and may have a vm running scripts / npm

Previous syslog per diag first error:

Jan 30 11:57:17 flores root: Fix Common Problems: Error: Unraid Patch Plugin not installed

I would recommend installing and running the Unriad patch app. (it has some fixes for unraid...

next error is with inability to talk ot the remote syslog server:

Current syslog:
Feb  2 12:22:10 flores nginx: 2025/02/02 12:22:10 [error] 12718#12718: *524340 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.0.63, server: , request: "POST /plugins/vmbackup/include/functions.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "flores.local", referrer: "http://flores.local/Settings/Vmbackup"

may reach out as you on unriad v 6.12.15

I recommend upgrading to unraid v7 full release.

Thanks @bmartino1!

I dont think I'm having problems with the stuff you pointed out. And I already have the Unraid Patch Plugin.

My main concern are the Dashboard errors like these: Feb 18 18:33:24 server nginx: 2025/02/18 18:33:24 [error] 32372#32372: *2973157 "/usr/local/emhttp/url("/plugins/index.html" is not found (2: No such file or directory) while sending to client, client: 192.168.0.55, server: , request: "GET /url(%22/plugins/ HTTP/1.1", host: "server.local", referrer: "http://server.local/Dashboard"

And the dark icon/text in the upper right corner.

Any ideas on these two symptoms?

not really you seem to be getting random warning for emhttp (Unraid web UI application) and (https)nginxs for the ssl side. As this may show results as It could be self-healing. as they don't seem to be breaking functionality. Still something to monitor though...

A guess:
I Don't noarmaly mess with the themes within Unraid? did you do a theme change?

Web UI > Setting > Display Settings
image.thumb.png.ba3f9231cb917696664d17c059cd8c56.png

Theres also plugins for thems and 3rd party web ui layouts.

https://docs.theme-park.dev/themes/unraid/

Unless there are remnants of this plugin. I"m not sure why you would be receiving a error that a plugins index page is missing.

There have been older unraid verion of reports where uninstalling the plugin doesn't kill the folder or data on the flash drive.

I would recommend making a backup of the flsh drive
Web UI > Main > Click Flash > Flash backup

the on unraid goto /boot/config

cd /boot/config
ls

and review your plugins data. I recently cleaned my flash drive and started  configs over to see the difference form v6 and v7. As its clearing trying to refferenc a old plugin page that is not installed.

My theme was black for the longest time and recently changed it to white because of the text/icon display issue.

And when I upgraded to 6.12.13 in October, I had removed 3 plugins: docker.patch, docker.patch2, and unbalanced.

Actually, now that I think about it, is it complaining because the FolderView plugin is not compatible with 6.x?

I have used folder view but left when it broke website and some docer behaviors with auto start.
image.png.bc47361527ccf805c4b78da59695ee71.png
*Note the min os. It was recenlty updated. but the mainter claims to have left.

Not sure if there is comunity or other mainting it...

AHving tested this in beta 7, It did work outsdie of some spacing isseus... There have been other known issues with the folder view plugin and how the web page is displayed with version 7. this could be that error...

Folder view could be causing theses issues. But no folder view is able to run on unriad v7.

Oh no! The developer left! Bummer. :-(

It was a great plugin. I'll try uninstalling it and see if it makes those emhttp errors go away.

I got the text and icons back!

I had to change the Header custom text color to white (ffffff) in Display Settings.

Now I just need to figure out why I get those errors.

  • Author

Just a small update.

I see that the errors '"/usr/local/emhttp/url("/plugins/index.html" is not found' started this past Saturday.

I have things setup such that plugins/docker containers get updated on Saturdays.

Also, the error only shows in syslog upon loading a new instance of my browser. Once I'm in a browser, and reload the Dashboard, I don't get the error.

I removed the FolderView plugin and I still get the error.

Try booting in safe mode to rule out any other plugin issues.
