February 19, 20251 yr I have set the most of the dockers on my unraid using the custom icons path locally, something like: /mnt/user/isos/icons/ANI-RSS.png But I notice every time the dockers upgrade, they lose their the custom icons, the icon files also got deleted, I try to set the icon folder owner root and read-only, still the same, is there a way to prevent this ? February 20, 20251 yr Community Expert That's a weird bug, I've encountered in the past.... I can't currently reproduce... I've found with template authoring, if they come from a web link, that they are saved. You need to make sure the docker template for that docker info is being saved... I've used direct paths and not had issues? Did you install plugin or use a theme?

February 24, 20251 yr Author Solution I am using 127.0.0.1/mnt/.... as icon path, no problem so far, I will test for a few more days to see how it goes. update---------------after using this as the icon path, no more this bug. http://127.0.0.1/mnt/user/ Edited March 4, 20251 yr by xyzeratul
November 12, 2025Nov 12 I have to necro this out again.I got 3 custom docker containers with custom icon paths looking like this:/mnt/user/data/Pictures/docker/media-manager.pngThey still get deleted from time to time as @xyzeratul described, but i am not sure its always after an update. His method off adding http://127.0.0.1/ does not work, then no icon is shown at all. Is there a fix to this?

Is there a fix to this?clear browser data, set unraid dns to 8.8.8.8 and try again.

Is there a fix to this? This method was broken in 7.2.0 to secure the GUI for Tailscale users. Before I worked out that method for myself, I used to host a very basic nginx instance that served up the contents of a folder with icons so it could be used in the docker template. You could also create a github repo and load your icons there. It's a stupid work around for a NAS OS that doesn't support using its own local storage, but it works.

What has my dns to do with local files getting deleted and atm the icons are fine, because i just put them back into the folder, so i not sure how to reproduce the error anyways.16 hours ago, tjb_altf4 said:This method was broken in 7.2.0 to secure the GUI for Tailscale users. Before I worked out that method for myself, I used to host a very basic nginx instance that served up the contents of a folder with icons so it could be used in the docker template. You could also create a github repo and load your icons there. It's a stupid work around for a NAS OS that doesn't support using its own local storage, but it works.Thx for fast reply, yeah thats quite a workaround for the icons ^^ And the github repo would be solution thx for the hint.(got a vps too with a zipline instance i could use aswell). I still think this isn't the way to handle a bug, even though it would work for the time. Edited November 14, 2025Nov 14 by rorian

I still think this is they way to handle a bug, even though it would work for the time. For icons appearing from the actual templates, there was a known bug issue that had to deal with DNS and unrated ability to connect to the internet. Even with local files or the 127 linking it had to do with a DNS connection and the ability to communicate to a DNS server before it would be able to download and see pictures. Others also seemed to have weird cookie data between an update that also caused. This picture is to disappear and we're able to see them using another browser...These were old bug reports and old communications were similar since you Necro up the thread. I was also informing of the potential issues and fixes due to past form communications on the same issue...
