February 19, 20251 yr Hello all, I followed the instructions to upgrade my parity drives, and everything was working fine. However, after the second parity was completed and I rebooted, I noticed that the array would not start; it just hangs on the "starting" screen. I tried safe boot, and everything worked fine there. When attempting to obtain diagnostics during normal boot, the system hangs again. I ran the diagnostic terminal command and checked the USB drive, but I couldn’t open the diagnostic file that I copied. I am attaching the diagnostic file from safe boot, along with the current one and a syslog file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. unraid-diagnostics-20250219-0447.zip unraid-diagnostics-20250219-0535.zip unraid-syslog-20250219-1021.zip
February 19, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution If Safe boot works and normal mode does not then it is almost certainly one of your plugins that is causing the problem. Which one I am not sure but I notice you have a version of Mover Tuning installed that is is incompatible with Unraid 7.0.0 so at least that needs fixing although I do not think it would cause your issue. To investigate you can disable any plugin by renaming its .plg file to have a different file extension and rebooting. Reverse the rename and reboot to get it enabled again.
February 19, 20251 yr Author Dumb question. How do I access the plugins in Safemode to rename the .plg file?
February 19, 20251 yr Community Expert You could use the GUI Terminal. From there, you could use the Command line or the Linux Midnight Commander ( mc on the CLI) File Manager. Since you are on version 7.0, I would think that the built-in Dynamix File Explorer would be available.
February 19, 20251 yr Author Thanks, everyone. It looks like it was the ZFS Unraid 6 plugin. Once I removed that, everything seemed to work normally.
