Sorry to kind of crash the party here guys, but I'm wondering if anyone is able to save me here.

 

I've recently built a new PC and have been toying with the idea of turning my old one into a torrent slave/media server. All well and good. Naturally I stumbled across this site and have gathered some good ideas, for which I am very grateful.

 

Now, my problem. I also ran across I similar site, that I can no longer find (browser history deletes pretty quickly, no router logs). Anywhere. Literally. I've spent like 3 hours googling for it. The main reason I want to find it is because it offers support for various budget level builds and details how upgradeable they are, and had some really good cases shown that I also cannot find again.

 

If anyone knows of such a site-iirc it had a black background with yellow/white writing and also offered some pre-built home servers, I would be immensely grateful! Thanks.

Ah-ha! Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver. Just out of interest, do you know how easy it is to fit 5 in 3 hot swappable drive bays into a tower case? Or does it require a decent amount of modding internally?

Depends on the case. If it has individual tabs for each drive bay, a 5-in-3 cage won't have slots to accommodate it. You end up having to bend the tabs to get the cage to fit.

Yeah that's what I've been hearing-are there any cases that are particularly suited to it? On Greenleaf they use the Xigmatek Utgard for most of the DIY builds, but haven't found any solid info on how to go about installing the bays.

Don't worry if the metal tabs are there. I was "nervous" to buy a case that had them also but went for it and couldn't be happier. The tabs just needed to be hammered down a little bit, that's all.
