I'm having some issues getting my newly build unraid server to run properly. I am having some trouble assigning a missing disk in my array, because the rebuild process is ending with a server freeze. Only way out is to hard reset the server, and then it all starts over, server reboot and starts rebuilding.

 

The disk thats is to be replaced is empty, and therefore rebuild is not necessary. I think i have to make a new config using initconfig, and then make the array from scratch and do a new parity build.

 

How when 3 of my disks is packed with data that is not to be deleted? Should i make a note of drive assignments, run initconfig through the interface (i'm on 5.12) and then reassign the drives to their prober initial slots? Start array, let the parity be build based on the data drives, and afterwards expand the array with the empty new disks?

 

As a side note, I'm running a pre clear on the missing disk to make sure the disk is not faulty?
