Unraid, Tailscale, NVR, two NICs

Featured Replies

Hi Unraiders,

Somewhat new to Unraid, been a few months checking out. My first topic here, could not find an answer yet, so I would like to ask for your experience.

My system:

Asus N100I-D D4 (Realtek gigabit LAN)

2.5Gb Intel i226 NIC

Unraid OS just upgraded to 7

I have Tailscale (plugin version, I started tinkering under 6.12.5). The 2.5Gb NIC is responsible for networking, the mobo NIC is disabled. The NAS has static IP (f.e. 192.168.2.2). Tailscale works like a charm, I can reach the internal network from linked Tailscale devices.

My issue / question: I also want to setup a security system, with NVR (TP-Link VIGI), with static IP in different subnet (f.e 192.168.3.3). For this, I want to enable the gigabit port so the NVR can connect to the NAS via the mobo port. Now about the next steps...

- I don't want the NVR to have access to my local network AND the internet.

- I would like to access the NVR from external network via Tailscale running on the NAS.

So far, I don't see the solution here. Is it possible to create this setup, briding the two NIC, using Tailscale, but limiting the subents?

Thanks in advance!

hi everyone,

quick update on the topic. I was able to set up the system as planned:

- 2.5Gbit NIC for eth0, subnet 1, repsonsible for local network and NAS access, internet connection available

- 1Gbit MOBO NIC for eth1, subnet 2

- Tailscale plugin running on Unraid

- advertise routes for both subnets.

devices on active tailnet can access subnet 1 and subnet 2 (unraid as host device).
