Data Drives Become "Unmountable" After Each Restart

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I recently migrated my Unraid server to new hardware. The initial migration process went relatively smoothly—I mounted the disks, set up a new configuration, and performed a full rebuild. Everything was working fine at first, but I soon started feeling that it was too easy... and sure enough, I was right!

After restarting the server, I noticed that both of my data drives now show the error: "Unmountable: Unsupported or no file system." I entered maintenance mode and used xfs repair to fix the drives, and they came back online. However, this issue recurs every time I restart the server—whether it’s a proper clean shutdown or a power failure, after each restart, both disks end up with a corrupted file system.

Both drives’ SMART data look fine. For clarity, this problem did not occur with my previous hardware setup.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or have any insights on what might be causing this? I have attached the diagnostic file.

Start by running memtest to rule out any obvious RAM issues.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll run a memtest and get back with the results soon.

I ran memtest for about 9 hours (5 complete runs) and no errors were detected.

Try fixing the filesystems once more, but if it happens again, I would recommend going back to the old hardware and retest.
