April 18, 201214 yr When ever I try preclearing a newly added drive I get: Sorry, /dev/sda is already assigned as part of the unRAID array.Clearing will NOT be performed The drive is not part of an array so why am i getting this?
April 18, 201214 yr Enter "pre-clear -l" to list candidates. basically, it thinks it is assigned. The /dev/sdX letters are assigned each time you reboot, look in your syslog to see the actual assigned drive letters. It might not be /dev/sda As mentioned, preclear_disk.sh -l will show you what it thinks are not being used.
April 18, 201214 yr Author I could not see it as assigned anywhere and even deleted to super.dat file and restarted..... weird...
