Start Fresh but keeping data/parity

Featured Replies

Recently, I was unable to determine the cause of the server freezes, as the system logs would stop at random points each time the issue occurred. Given the lack of diagnostic information, I opted to build a new server (mainly due to power consumption and footprint). My goal is to deploy a fresh OS while preserving existing data and maintaining parity integrity. I understand that the order of data drives does not matter, but can I simply start the fresh OS with the correct parity drive assigned to achieve this? Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, just point me to that direction. Thanks in advance!

If you are using the same data drives and parity, yes, parity will remain valid, just check "parity is already valid" after assigning the devices and before array start.
