Fastest way to rsync files between two unRaid Servers

Featured Replies

A friend of mine finally did it and crashed three of six data disks in his unRaid. Maybe a short circuit etc, nevertheless the disks are dead.

Now i want to transfer a fair amount of data locally from my unRaid to his new one, an i want to use rsync for it.

Question for my: what the quickest method?

Rsync via SSH or to mount an NFS or SMB shard locally on my unRaid and rsync there?

Whats your experience with that?

Should be similar, assuming gigabit LAN and a decent CPU, for >gigabit, SMB should be faster, unless you use a different cipher for SSH, the default one is very CPU intensive for high speeds.
