April 20, 201214 yr Case: Azza Helios 910 Drive cages: Supermicro CSE-M35T-1B This case already had a Norco SS-500 in the top position. The entire process of placing that one went very easy. Flatten the tabs, slide in the cage, insert the disks, done. I finally got everything ready to insert the two Supermicro cages, and then fill them with ten old disks I have lying around. I took everything to the garage, and started the process as detailed above. 1) I think the SM cages are slightly larger in dimensions. It was a VERY tight fit for the first one (middle position), and very, VERY tight for the third cage. 2) The front trim piece had these crossbars that had to be removed because would not reinstall with the new cages there. 3) The cages must have their power cables installed before slid into position. There is almost no room to insert them after the fact. Mine are against the motherboard wall, not the other. 4) The threaded holes on the side of the SM cage are optical drive mounting threads, NOT hard disk mounting threads. It was a rough couple hours getting all of this installed. Normally, I add one disk at a time, so this was a new experience.
