March 3, 20251 yr The issue I'm having is that files keep ending up out of designated drives and pools. For instance in my one TV share my "Working" ssd pool shows up which is shouldn't be attached to that share and also Disk 1 which shouldn't either. I'm getting this with my "Working" ssd pool and some other shares as well. What am I missing? How do I stop this from happening?
March 3, 20251 yr Community Expert That means you have something writing directly to those disks for that share, e.g., /mnt/disk1/TV, instead of /mnt/user/TV, or they are old files.

I'm only using krusader to manually move files into the shares and they end up where they shouldn't.
March 3, 20251 yr Community Expert What is writing to those shares originally? Also, post the diagnostics.

I just had them as shares to separate my media. Handbrake uses my "working" pool along with dropping downloads from some dockers. skynet-diagnostics-20250303-1141.zip
March 3, 20251 yr Community Expert I was asking what wrote the shares to the wrong disks, in any case, now you just need to move them from disk1 and the pool, any new writes to that share will go to disks 2 and 4 only, assuming you are writing to /mnt/user/TV

I keep having to use unbalance to move stuff back onto the right disks and they still come back.
March 3, 20251 yr Community Expert Then it sounds like the paths you gave to krusader are incorrect. Edited March 3, 20251 yr by Kilrah

March 3, 20251 yr Community Expert If you are using Krusader and a ‘move’ operation rather than a copy/delete strategy then you can end up by-passing the Unraid Share system as mentioned in the Caution in this section of the online documentation. if you use the Dynamix File Manager built into Unraid 7 then it will protect you against the behaviour mentioned in the caution and give the expected end result.

I hate the the built in file manager but that makes sense I always 'move' stuff instead of copying. I'm going to test that and see what happens. Thank you for that. I'll see how that works.

One possibility (depending on your share setup) is to make the "wrong location" the Primary Storage location for the share in question so that mover can later move things to the correct location.
