March 7, 20251 yr Hello, I am in the middle of a large "Mover" operation. Mover is running properly, but on unRAID's main screen, it does NOT show it as running. I do NOT have the "Mover Tuning" plugin installed. When I had it installed, it was fake-moving files to /user0 folder. I also do NOT have "Automatic Turbo Mode" enabled. Is this a bug, or is something not set up correctly? Please see screencap below: Thank you.
March 7, 20251 yr Community Expert I did observe that too. I'm currently using mover to empty my array disks after another, it seems to work fine at start but after a while it doest display mover as running anymore while it still is. I'm gonna check on it tomorrow again, cause there's a couple TB left to be shoveled around, to see what the timeframe is when the status is lost
March 8, 20251 yr Happened once to me when 7 was in beta. But never reoccurred for me as far as I know. And unfortunately couldn't fix what wasn't broken
March 8, 20251 yr Community Expert Its 1 Hour, after that, the status is gone from the main page. The schedule page does still display it as running. Edit: Looking at the code, it seems okay. parity_list is also running. mhmm Edit2: It seems like the websocket mymonitor just stops responding at all after 1 hour. This is the response after i freshly started the mover. Before that. i got 0 data, absolutely nothing. Edited March 8, 20251 yr by Mainfrezzer
March 9, 20251 yr Author Hi…. My server is early-on on a drive data rebuild (16%), and mover button was disabled because of this. I woke up and drive data rebuild says it will take like 20 days. Last night it said it was going to take about 28 hours. I see on the Main page that the Move button is available to push. I go to Settings > Schedules and it reports “mover as running”. so two things… One, the mover status is not reporting like my original post. And two, scheduler activated the mover overnight even though unRAID was in the middle of a drive rebuild. This is concerning as mover should be not be running. is this an issue? I have about 1TB in cache that is copying to the array. thanks. Edited March 9, 20251 yr by hernandito
March 9, 20251 yr Community Expert Technically it is OK to run them in parallel, but they badly affect each others performance so it is more efficient to not do so. Not sure why mover is running with a rebuild in progress! Maybe it only doesn’t run if a parity check is in progress? If you install the Parity Check Tuning plugin then even if you do not use its other features you can set it to pause ANY array level operation while mover is running/
March 9, 20251 yr Author Thanks @itimpi. Glad to hear it’s not an issue other than performance. Server is not doing a parity check. It’s rebuilding a drive that went bad and was replaced. I assume I can either pause the drive rebuild on Main page. Or I can go to console and issue the “mover stop” command. The second option sounds better as I want the array back to normal asap. thoughts?

Likely to be the fastest to achieve this I would think. the plugin setting I mentioned make more sense when your mover is doing its typical overnight run when the volume is much smaller so mover will not run for that long.

Scheduled mover should not activate when data rebuild is in progress; and status of mover is not being reported per my original post. Thanks again… on my way to stop the mover.
