I recently added a cache drive to my unraid recently, I have one outstanding question though. Am I supposed to somehow move all the files on the flash drive to the cache drive in case the flash fails at some point?

You could do that; depending on how you do it, they may then get moved to the protected array.

 

If you want to keep a backup copy just on the cache drive, put them in a folder with a name starting with a '.'

for example ".usb-backup" (no quotes).
