Problem with mover : try to rsync non existing files in cache

Featured Replies

Hi,

Like many people, I had the issue with mover process not working anymore with unraid 7.0. The processes ended in 1 second, no interesting traces in logs except 2 log lines for start/stop confirming the process begun and ended.

After few minutes reading unraid forum, I have installed CA mover plugin, activated logs, unactivated "dry run" and retry the mover process.

Now the process takes hours.... It identifies 700k files non existing in cache and try to rsync them to array....

Here is an exemple  :

Mar 16 08:54:29 Tower move: 189349 files remaining from caches to array  959GiB
Mar 16 08:54:29 Tower move: Moving "/mnt/user0/./nextcloud/marie louise/files_trashbin/files/COPROPRIETE.d1629481128/compte rendu geomètre.doc"  to  /mnt/user0/
Mar 16 08:54:29 Tower move: ERROR: Skipping sender remove of destination file: nextcloud/marie louise/files_trashbin/files/COPROPRIETE.d1629481128/compte rendu geom\#303\#250tre.doc
Mar 16 08:54:29 Tower move: rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1338) [sender=3.3.0]

About the file in this trace :

- the file exists in array, not in cache

- the file is in a share cache -> array

the path of the file is always /mnt/user0/./ instead of /mnt/cache/....  on all log lines I have in syslog (my logs partition is 100% used after few hours). I empty it twice a day since yesterday.

AND.... real files in cache are not moved... I used "unbalanced" to move them from cache to array, it worked perfectly.

So I assume soemthing goes wrong in the process in charge of identifying files to move.

Please help. Maybe something is misconfigured on my side ?

You are using the mover tuning plugin, either uninstall it and try the stock mover, or if you want to keep using the plugin you will need to ask for help in the existing plugin support thread.

Enable the mover logging, run the mover and post the diagnostics, together with the share name(s) yo expect to be moved.

There's no pool set for the media share, this sometimes causes issues, not clear why only sometimes, click on that share select primary=cache, secondary=array and click apply, if it already shows like that, make a dummy change so that you can click apply, then retest.

OMG.... so simple... I think settings were not transfered when updating to 7.0.0.

Of course it was correctly set up before. I did not notice this problem visually.

Now it is fixed and working. Thanks a lot.
