Issue with Ubuntu upgrade from 22 to 24

Hi, 

I have a VM that I tried to upgrade from 22 to 24. everything works fine, but after it reboots, the video stops working. I can access it via SSH and everything in the background starts but I can't RDP with Splashtop like I used to and using the console it is blank or the image shows for a couple seconds and then goes black again and rinse and repeat. I can't click on anything either when the image appears. 

Does anyone have any suggestions? this is happening on 2 VMs that I am trying to upgrade to 24.

    Chrome (Android)
    1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
    2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
    3. Adjust your preference.
    Chrome (Desktop)
    1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
    2. Select Site settings.
    3. Find Notifications and adjust your preference.
