March 19, 20251 yr Hi all, over the past month or so I've been having a lot of stability issues. looking at my logs I noticed that there are a few segfault errors that are appearing. Not entirely sure how to decipher these logs but they seem to suggest issues with the cpu. I don't feel as if I've had this setup (10th gen intel) for very long so I find it a bit hard to believe it's the cpu, but any ideas? I've attached my diagnostics. Unconfirmed 500872.crdownload
March 19, 20251 yr Community Expert It appears your attachment is incomplete/corrupted. Also something you can do is run a MemTest from the boot menu for 24 hours or until the test fails to rule out bad memory. If the test passes after 24 hours the chances of bad memory are slim to none. Alternatively you can run the live memory test plugin instead. This runs much slower and you should run it much longer. (I suggest memtest from the boot menu if you can afford the downtime) Edited March 19, 20251 yr by MowMdown
March 22, 20251 yr Author tried the memory test plugin, so far no issues. The odd thing is once i reboot the server it will go a week or 2 with absolutely no issues, then they'll start populating in the logs. guess i'll have to take the server down and do the mem test the old fashioned way.
March 22, 20251 yr Community Expert Keep in mind the test is only definitive IF it finds errors in the memory.
April 28, 20251 yr Did you resolve this? I have these too... it's the only real problem I see in my syslogs. I've tried disabling the XMP Profile and I still get this issue. My server used to last a week or two, now it locks up every 24 hours or so. Been a real pain pin-pointing the offender. Ran full memtest and it passed.
