Virtual machine error unraid 7.0.1

Featured Replies

Hello I tried to install w11 vm in unraid and this is what i get when i enable vm in unraid

41882: error : virNetSocketReadWire:1781 : End of file while reading data: Input/output error

I tried to deleted the libvirt library but that does not solve the issue.

Funny thing is it used to work with no issue when i installed 7.0 first time so something happened and i now cannot make it work

Thanks

Noting obvious that I can see, did it stop working after you changed the name of the Domains share?

all i did that it is diferent is the folder locations for everything related to virtual machines. since then i get the error a posted above and when im about to install w11 it tells me  ( image attached ) which dididn't happen before and it is the exact same iso i used

also what is this related to? 41882: error : virNetSocketReadWire:1781 : End of file while reading data: Input/output error

I don't see what is casing the error, maybe someone else can, alternatively, you can try reverting to the default settings, and recreate the libvirt image once more.

how do i revert to the default seetings for the VM? i do not see any button anywhere

Rename /boot/config/domains.cfg to bak and reboot.

let get this straight as I am a rookie with unraid. By renaming domains.cfg am i defaulting anything else beside just the virtual machines? then if i rename that file to "bak" what do i do with that file after?

Nope, that file only applies to the Settings - VM manager page.

Nothing, you could also delete it, I prefer to rename just in case something from that is needed later, but it shouldn't in this case.

P.S. Better to disable the VM manager, before doing it.

that worked i do not get the error anymore. I still get the same message of this pc does not meet w11 requirements wich is not true because i already installed it when i first installed unraid. it might be something in my w11 settings though

Try with the default settings for a win11 vm, those should work.

Just noticed this last night.
Had to restart unraid 3x, to no avail.

every time I try run the win11 VM, it just gets stuck there trying to load, but I can browse all other menu/pages except the VM page/section.
every after restart, I get the unclean shutdown notification and the correcting parity starts, even though I went through Unraid's restart procedure.

my unraid has been running stable 24/7 for several months, until this latest version I guess.

I tried deleting the VM and recreated, same issue.
