Help: unRAID is not finding my NIC

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had unRAID up and running.  Today I shutdown unRAID, disabled the onboard NIC then installed a new PCI gigabit NIC.  Booted unRAID but it didn't find the NIC.  I then started with a fresh install of unRAID on the usb flash drive and booted again, still no NIC.  I have the ethernet cable pluggin in and the NIC shows a green light.  ifconfig shows an ip address of 127.0.0.1

thanks!

The key statement in the syslog seems to be

May  5 18:41:01 Tower ifplugd(eth0)[1090]: Initialization complete, link beat not detected.

It does not detect the LAN.  Are you sure it is plugged into the correct connector on the motherboard, and enabled. (internal LAN must be disabled in the BIOS)?

The IP address you gave is the alias for itself.  Every computer will respond to 127.0.0.1 as itself... also known as "localhost"

What PCI gigabit NIC? Is it supported by a driver in unRAID?
