kernel: python3[4111860]: segfault at 0 ip 000014ab37ba07cd sp 000014aa3d3fd368 error 4 in libc.so.6[14ab37a28000+195000]

Featured Replies

I keep getting this error in my syslog and I cannot figure out what is causing it. I ran memtest86+ and it did not find errors in my memory. Any idea what might be using python3 and causing this error? Is it a plugin or docker container? How can I better track it? By the time the error appears in the log the processid for the python process no longer exists so I cannot seem to track it down.

Still reviewing your diag I'm, not seeing the python plugin... so you have a extra installed app or user scripts that use python scripts running or need python...

as the error:
python3[4111860]: segfault
is a kernel error due to python broken or missing...

? Are you running borg backup ?

Was expecting to see in diag for unraid v7:
image.png.e071971e38be176e56f37ccf2e4f702d.png

plugin installed. I don't see it in the daiag list... also you should update and install any plugin updates. Your list is showing outdated and unchecekd plugins:
"(Unknown to Community Applications)" which is worry some as it claims older plugin verison or dns issues unable to check for plugin updates.

as something is clearly needed for python that you have on the system, such as a extra program instaled or other script. I would recommend installing this plugin to add python and python support to unraid.

as you have some nerdpack installs and something from dev pack the error you are seeing is most likly caused by missing dependant applicaitons

any 3rd party app you have should be uninstalled. and reinstalled via unget:

I think I found the culprit and it was not a plugin. It was a docker container. The Subgen docker container to be specific. I haven't figured out exactly what is setting it off, but I noticed that after each segfault it starts its process all over again rescanning all of my media. So I stopped the container and no segfaults since... Now I have to figure out what is triggering it...
