April 25, 201214 yr My system will no longer boot after adding a 2TB Western Digital EARX hard drive. The bios still correctly shows to boot from the usb drive and even if I force the system to boot from the usb I get a message to reboot and select proper device. I have tried changing the usb port that the flash drive is in without any success. Motherboard is an Asrock 880GM-LE. I currently have 11 other 2TB drives (all WDC EARS) running without issue using version 4.7 Any suggestions? Thanks
April 25, 201214 yr Try disabling INT 13h in the controller BIOS (which one do you have?) Some motherboard BIOS don't handle more than 12 drives very well. See: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2302.msg17662#msg17662
April 26, 201214 yr Author I am on Bios version 1.4. I tried to upgrade, but the system doesn't seem to recognize the update when I put it on a flash drive (fat32 format). How do I disable INT 13h? I don't see this as an option anywhere. If I remove an existing drive everything works OK, so the issue looks to be related to having more than 12 drives and not the drive itself.
