May 6, 200818 yr Setting up a AB9 pro. Boots up fine and I can remote login when I have a graphics card installed. But when I remove it looks like the USb key blinks only 3 times after the FF boot code on the motherboard. Instead of the usual 50 secs or so. Is there any setting required in syslinux.cfg to run headless? Thanks
May 6, 200818 yr did you set the "halt on error" to none in your bios? else the system will give the error "no video card detected" (which you cant see ) and will never boot i've been running headless for some time now, and can tell you that it doesn't require any alteration to your unraid hf

I have that motherboard, set it to halt on no errors, and it will not boot without a video card. If anyone does get it to work, I'd like to know before I have to order another video card (it's borrowing one from another PC right now).
May 6, 200818 yr From what I've read, you can't run it headless (which is a major drag). But, I don't have the board yet so I can't test it out.
May 6, 200818 yr Author X4N: Yes, I changed halt on error to none. From josetann and Equilibrium looks like the board doesn't support going headless. If you have unRaid going headless on a AB9 please fill us in!
May 7, 200818 yr Get with one low amount of memory too. A small 32MB memory card (lol can you find one?) I've noticed the more memory you have in the card, the more it seems to reserve in the very high upper memory blocks above 3G.
May 8, 200818 yr I'm using an 8MB ATI Rage XL PCI card w/ my AB9 Pro: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=ATI-RAGEXL-8M&cat=VCD Cost $9 +shipping bb
May 8, 200818 yr Thanks bb, I just ordered one for my AB9 Pro. The total came to $18 for me after shipping. Not that great, but I'm not complaining.
May 9, 200818 yr You're right about the steep shipping at geeks.com. I bought 2 of those video cards, a couple of Lexar usb drives (for the OS) and some ethernet cables, so the shipping got spread out & turned out not to be too painful overall.
