New Config - Are ZFS pools impacted? (7.0.0)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a server that has a couple of ZFS SSD pools, plus a regular array of HDs. I want to make it all SSD/flash only, so intend to remove the array.

The array has no data, but the ZFS pools do that I wish to retain. I think the only way to be able to remove the array is using "New Config", but I want to double check this won't impact the ZFS pools?

Can anyone please advise the best approach here?

Thanks

It won't delete anything, and as long as you keep the pool assignments, or just reassign all the devices as they were before, it will import the exiting pools (leave fs set to auto)

Hi Jorge,

Many thanks for the rapid response.

I actually realised there is another path to what I was trying to achieve. Initially I am sure the "None" option for number of slots was not available, but may have missed it, as it was when I checked again after posting.

All the same, very useful to know that New Config doesn't delete the ZFS pools.

Thanks!
