March 28, 20251 yr Hi folks, I'm having trouble with the boot flash disk disconnecting. Most often results in unraid webui (and docker services) becoming unavailable, but sometimes just a warning about the boot disk being corrupted. Typically happens after 8-36 hours after boot. I've tried a couple of different flash USB drives. Supermicro X10 mobo. Mar 24 23:02:58 NAS kernel: usb 4-2.1: Device not responding to setup address. Mar 25 10:10:50 NAS kernel: usb 4-2.1: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd Mar 25 10:10:50 NAS kernel: usb 4-2.1: LPM exit latency is zeroed, disabling LPM. I'd appreciate any guidance on diagnosing this. Thanks nas-diagnostics-20250328-1142.zip
April 14, 20251 yr Author No luck i'm afraid. Happens on any/all of the machine's usb ports. Worth trying an addin (pci-e) usb controller?
April 14, 20251 yr Community Expert USB-2 ports tend to work better than USB-3 ports. If you don't have any on the rear panel, get out the manual and see if there is a USB-2 header on the motherboard. There are several types of header-to-socket adapters.
