March 29, 20251 yr I've noticed lately in the last few months that my unraid keeps going down, where it is not accessible at all, the monitor connected to it is blank, not accessible via network, tailscale also says its offline...however when I go check the chasis, the pc is still powered on, so is the motherboard and gpu but the drives are spun down and no hdd activity. Whenever I power it off and on again, the parity-check shows that there are not drive errors. The hardware is far beyond what it is used for (mostly multi-media by 1-2 people at a time), and it doesn't crash under load but usually when I don't seem to be actively acessing it. The frequency is not consistent either....sometimes it'll go 20-30 days without issue and sometimes it will crash in 2 days. I'm not sure where to check what could be going wrong. They syslog doesn't seem to show anything up with it. I have included the diagnostics file. Please let me know if someone is able to troubleshoot this with me, or point me in the right direction or have experienced something similar. friday-diagnostics-20250328-2133.zip
April 2, 20251 yr Author Hi @JorgeB, I already had syslogs being sent to a server. Please find the syslog for today, it happened to crash again after 3/4 days at around 10 pm on April 1st but the last logs before the crash was hours before that. The only reason I knew when it immediately crash was because my jellyfin playback ran into an error. 2025-04-01.log
April 2, 20251 yr Community Expert There's nothing relevant logged, make sure this has been taken care of: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/page/2/#findComment-819173
April 3, 20251 yr Author Hi Jorge, thank you for the response. I assume you were pointing to the comment regarding sleep states and voltage offsets on ryzen 5000 cpus. I have followed the steps and have tried typical idle load and turning of Cstate....however it seems to have crashed again with no logs showing why. I have now applied a 50MV offset to my cpu and will provide an update if it crashes at all, will update to see if it crashes in the next few days.
