April 29, 201214 yr If you are only streaming, you can use a single core processor. For transcoding and doing other things you will need a dual or higher core processor. I am using a dual core processor, because I bought my set up as a whole. It came with mobo, cpu and cooler for $100 bucks new. At first, I only wanted to stream movie, which I do to 4 different locations without any issues, but now I am thinking of buying some Ipads for the wife and kids, so I will have to transcode video. So, I am thinking of building another server with 3tb / 4tg hdd support. I'm still waiting for the final unraid version to be announced, and then I'll be buying parts. I'm probably woing to buy a norco 4224 case. It will save me some $$ in the long run.

I've got the same case Azza Helios. That guy is selling it for $50 shipped, which is pretty cheap. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with an case that doesn't have a side fan like the Helios. Probably the Antec 300. The 900 and 1200 are nice but pricey. Hope that help.
