Rudy81
I plan on using my new unRaid server to house my media collection. The media will be accessed by JRiver Media Center on a Win 7 machine. I would like to 'secure' my files using the user shares option. My question is this. If I enable user share security, will I have to provide a user and password every time Jriver Media Center attempts to access the media files? How are you guys that use unRaid to stream music and movies handle the security? BTW, none of my home machines have user names or passwords associated with windows. Quote Link to comment
taichan
I'm not sure. But assuming that your computer is secure you can map to the folders and save the username/login so it doesn't ask you every time. Quote Link to comment
BetaQuasi
From Windows, you can map a network drive to the share and save the credentials/remember the connection when you do so. It will remain persistent through reboots etc that way. Quote Link to comment
