What Linux distro is Unraid based on?

Featured Replies

Hi Unraiders!

I am thinking of getting a TerraMasster NAS and setting it up with Unraid.

Now, I am interested on what Linux distro is Unraid based. Is it Redhat-base (with the `dnf` package manager) or Debian-based ((with the `apt` package manager) or Arch or Gentoo?

Thanks for any insights!

Slackware

Interesting.Thanks!

Is Unraid's development "in parallel " with Slackware (so does it for example use the internals of the current Slackware version 15, or is Untaid rather a fork at an earlier state and now independent of Slackware?

Is there anywhere some documentation/blog posts about  this part of the history?
