Connect settings for remote access won't stay

Featured Replies

Noticed my remote access won't stay set to dynamic with with a specific port I set it then hit save and if I leave the page and come back it's disabled again.

Hit the same issue.

I was trying to setup today and noticed the same thing. When I set to static and try to enter a port, it just resets to UPNP.

Also experiencing this issue.

Same here, settings aren't persistent after saving. The config file looks correct for port ect but not getting an authorization token and settings go back to upnp.

I'm going to look at posting in discord. They're not looking at their forums apparently

Not much other than they're looking into it and it will be fixed in a few weeks with a patch, but they're looking at integrating the connect application with the operating system as well and that might take priority.

In the meantime, I just use wireguard on my phone to access it when I'm not at home, but it would be nice to have connect so I can use my work computer with the bigger screens.

Does that mean that Unraid Connect in the current state does not provide remote access at all? I tried all options (static/dynamic and UPNP/Manual port) with my router properly configured for manual port with no success. I was never able to remotely access the server. And It is always difficult to see what configuration I have because the interface never shows to correct info. In the Unraid Connect portal I was able to see and activate remote connection and I can see the remote access URL but it just never connects to the Unraid UI and times out.

That is interesting to see that the plan is to integrate that feature to the main tool but perhaps they stopped supporting the plugin?

Same for me....
Setting it to "dynamic" it reverts to "disabled" after just a couple of seconds.

And when set to "always" it stays like this, but there is no possibility to connect.....

Please try updating your plugin to the latest and report back. We are aware of one or two outstanding issues, but the latest plugin is much more reliable. @maxik what version of Connect are you running?

Running latest I see dynamic is no long let available just enable and disable but it's sticks now

@elibosley 2025.07.15.1837

As i wrote before, the bahaviour of the plugin is really strange because the "state" always reverts back to disabled.

On the management page (remote) the server access is flagged as "enabled" and the button "stop remote access" - the problem is that i do not now how to actually get to the server GUI. I only get redirected to a "local link" like https://server.local:442/X (where X stands for the icon i click on the server detail page)

This is correct. We’ve pulled dynamic remove access for the moment in favor of more reliable solutions (like Tailscale).
