April 11, 20251 yr Came home to a kernel panic. Really starting to hate Intel for doing me dirty on the 14th gen. unraid1-diagnostics-20250410-2243.zip
April 11, 20251 yr Community Expert Normal syslog starts over after every boot, if it keeps happening, enable the syslog server and post that after a crash.
April 11, 20251 yr Author @JorgeB I have it enabled, I thought the system would roll that up too. Except it's not using the syslog server. The directory is empty.

April 11, 20251 yr Author @itimpi I have two unraid servers, what would be better, point it to itself or to the second system?

Up to you - most people probably point it to itself. An alternative is to use the Mirror to flash option which will cause it be written to the logs folder on the flash drive. Some people, though, prefer not to use that option in case it increases wear on the flash drive although I personally have not found this to be an issue.
April 11, 20251 yr Author @itimpiIt would be nice to be able to do a csv option for multiple log servers. Edited April 11, 20251 yr by eagle470

April 14, 20251 yr Author @itimpi most enterprise system do it already. Unraid is kinda headed down a similar path, maybe focused more on SMB though. I personally would have found it useful when my server wouldn't boot last fall, as I could have pulled logs then. I don't want to write to USB because I can't risk it dying right now. Money is super tight and I'm running on a 10+ year old license. I've heard that after so many replacements, limetech won't refresh the usb guid. Which is fine, they have bills and payroll to make, I get it.

I've heard that after so many replacements, limetech won't refresh the usb guid. There are those with even older licences and all ‘legacy’ licences are lifetime licences valid for all Unraid releases. Limetech allows 1 automated licence transfer per year which can be done online in minutes. If for some reason you need one sooner then you have to contact support but they tend to respond reasonably promptly.
April 16, 20251 yr Author @itimpi had an outage again last night about 6CDT, I just got time to upload and had a power outage just now. unraid1-diagnostics-20250416-1340.zip syslog-Unraid1.log Edited April 16, 20251 yr by eagle470
