April 11, 20251 yr I added the NVME and it made it part of the existing ssd cache pool so I shut down the array and used destructive mode UD to delete the drive I then restarted the array and had a deleted drive listed showing 2 slots no option to go back to one. I removed the NVME physically and now I have a cache 2 not installed with a Red Cross device is missing disabled how can I remove it
April 12, 20251 yr Author Yes thanks sorry forgot to attach them attached them now asusmicro-diagnostics-20250412-1103.zip
April 12, 20251 yr Community Expert I assume you want to use just that SSD as a single device pool, if yes, and with the array running type: btrfs balance start -f -dconvert=single -mconvert=dup /mnt/cache Once that's done, type: btrfs dev remove missing /mnt/cache Now reimport the pool with the remaining device: on main click on the first device for that pool and then "remove pool" back on main, create a new pool with the same name and 1 slot assign the pool device, leave the filesystem set to auto start the array to import the pool

April 12, 20251 yr Author Ok I followed the instructions but when I start the array cache 2 not installed
April 15, 20251 yr Community Expert Sorry, missed your post, post new diags with the array started, but that suggests you didn't run the 2nd command before reimporting the pool. On 4/12/2025 at 11:32 AM, JorgeB said: Once that's done, type: btrfs dev remove missing /mnt/cache
April 20, 20251 yr Author Sorry been pre-occupied with health issues 🙂 Diagnostics attached with Unraid running asusmicro-diagnostics-20250420-1242.zip
April 20, 20251 yr Author I will have to wait until the parity check finishes long story short I got a new ATX power supply and the iec cable is intermittently shutting the server down so I have replaced the power cable which fixed the issue but Unraid wants to run a parity check due to unclean shutdown ☹️ Edited April 20, 20251 yr by Stratto
April 21, 20251 yr Community Expert There are still dual profiles, so possibly the balance command failed due to some fs issue, run the command below again, and post new diags once it finishes, you can do it while the pariry sync is going on: btrfs balance start -f -dconvert=single -mconvert=dup /mnt/cache
April 21, 20251 yr Author great news old missing drive now missing the first time it never came up as successffully removed it did this time. cache pool back to normal thanks again
