April 13, 20251 yr Following the guidance in this thread, I now have Unraid booting on a T440 server for the first time, and I'm looking to create the file systems. Here's the physical view (IDRAC) of the installed drives: Here's how it looks in Unraid: IDRAC sees both 256G SSD drives. Unraid sees only one. Why? I have the Unleashed license so there should be no limits on devices. Also I see that Unraid calls it a "DELLBOSS_VD" - I have not yet created any VM or any virtual drive storage. What does the "VD" in the name mean, and is it related to the two drives appearing as one? Back in IDRAC, it seems that a "Virtual Disk" has been "automatically" created. Should I find how to delete or decompose this back to separate drives, and let Unraid manage it as a pool? Or is the server already doing the same as what Unraid would do in terms of redundancy? April 14, 20251 yr You should avoid RAID controllers with Unraid, or see if there's an option to set the devices to non RAID, like the disks:
