upgraded parity drive- red dot w/ errors..{SOLVED}

Featured Replies

ok so short story i have 2 drives that fail in the same location. i need to replace these drives. I have a parity drive that a piece physically broke off where you plug the sata cable into the "L" shape that goes around the gold pins. I have not replaced the 2 bad drives yet. i am replacing the parity first...so here is what i have done.

I have added a WD 1TB hdd. That was accepted just fine. I stopped my array. removed the drive(parity) that the piece broke off of and i added a new WD 3TB HDD which i did 3 pre-clear scans and it passed all 3 of them. Now the parity has a red dot on it and shows up with errors.

Here is the drive i got that i set as parity Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB SATA III 64 MB Cache Bare/OEM Desktop Hard Drive - WD30EZRX

should i power down my server?

3T support requires beta 8. I suggest that you upgrade to the latest release, beta14-rc1. Make sure that your using the latest pre-clear as well, currently 1.13.
