2 gamers 1 tower (unraid 2025) Sparkle Elf Intel Arc A380 - code 43 black screen

Featured Replies

System:

Ryzen 9 5800x CPU
32gb g.skill rgb RAM

2x Sparkle Elf Intel Arc A380 GPU

2tb nvme stick

250gb ssd

coolermaster water cooler (3 fan rad)

500w psu

I started into unraid following the many tutorials online starting with Linus and now ending with many space invader videos.

unraid has a 2tb nvme drive for disk 1, a 250gb SSD for cache, and currently no parity (I don't mind starting from scratch while learning this setup process)

I have two sparkle Intel arc a380 elf 6gb GPUs in my system. I can start my VM in a VNC with the second GPU as one of the arc a380 cards. Both will Intel drivers to install but after restarting the VM the arc cards go back to code 43. I tried to flash vbios on the VM but it says there is no device there to flash.

I have been stuck for about three days now with the VNC working but not able to get past code 43 on the GPU passthrough. The unRAID boot up text will start on one monitor and when the VM starts it goes black. If I swap to the other arc card I have seen a monitor show the unRAID logo a few times and then turn black.

Rebar is enabled.

I changed the xml so the gpu and its audio slots are the same with multifunction on

The GPUs and their audio sections are all in seperate IOMMU groups

I posted a job on Fiverr and a few people asked 150$ to fix this issue but they would not tell me what the fix was. I would rather this never work than lose the understanding of a hobby that I still frustratingly love.

Any thoughts are appreciated

The end goal here is to turn on the unraid pc power to have 2 VMs auto run windows 10 for my kids to play minecraft/wow/steam games separately

Update: I have run the arc gpu on a clean windows 10 and the installation was fine. I was able to get the vm running on an old GeForce GTX 1050 Ti first try without even having to xml edit the slots. I tried to use the arc again hoping that the clean windows install of the drivers or update there would follow over to unraid, but that certainly was not the case. I have been working with someone on Fiverr to do troubleshooting but we have just been covering the fixes that we have seen in videos online.

Still kinda dead in the water right now with Code 43 in the VM using VNC and trying to install. It also still says code 43 when we use the VM with only the arc card and using rustdesk to get into the machine. I have also tried doing this with no cords plugged into the GPU.

Again-- any help or guesses are always appreciated. Thank you all!
