New Unraid 7.01 install w/ docker - crashing server

Featured Replies

Hi there, I've been having a headache since day 1 with random crashes on my server.  I've tried googling, searched the discord and even used AI to diagnose my problems but can't for the life of me figure it out.  I setup the syslog server for pre and post crash, but can't find anything that might help.  I'm on an Intel 6600k (with cooler), 1x8B DDR4 RAM, 6 spinning drives, 1 cache SSD.

My server was setup in accordance with trash guides, utilizing an array for storage with a cache SSD for temporary data storage that moves over each night.  Unfortunately it hasn't really stayed up long enough to go through that full process.  I also setup the auto-pause and move script for qBitorrent and tried disabling it to no avail

Other things I've tried based on searches:

memtest from boot - passed 2 times, no errors

Removed 10gb network card and used onboard - no difference, still crashes

Cache drive converted from BRTFS to zfs - no change

Removed cache drive all together, downloaded SAB/qB directly to array - no change

As far as my docker, I have a typical setup with qBittorrent, Sonarr, Radarr, Plex, etc.  I suspect maybe it's related to one of these as the server stayed up for a few hours when everything except Plex was disabled - but can't be sure if that was just luck.

This hardware was all in use a week or so ago with Windows with no issues so I figure it's gotta be a configuration I am missing somewhere.  I didn't adjust much in the BIOS between then and now aside from disabling fastboot (which I also tried enabling, no luck on fixing anything)

Anything obvious I'm missing here?  It doesn't seem to be losing connection either, it's a full on system crash - when I hook a monitor up the GUI is gone (if I use the GUI, which I generally don't) and it's typically a black screen on the PC.  Requires a full reboot to work again, and then eventually crashes again.

Any help is appreciated.  So far Unraid has been great and I'm eager to buy a license but I cannot seem to figure this out.

I certainly will going forward.  Attached is both the syslog and  syslog-previous in one file, separated on line 1893 when it crashed.  I used the USB flash option, if there's one that is more suitable I am all ears.

Interestingly, upgrading to 6.1 RC1 seems to have fixed the issue, at least so far.  Uptime of 5 hours which is about 4 and a half hours more than I was able to get before.

Still interested in analysis of the logs if anyone has any insights, especially since it could just be a coincidence that the update helped.

Where did you get these? Diagnostics already includes both of these.

Apr 16 12:28:06 Tower root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: Syslog mirrored to flash

Those logs would be in the logs folder on the flash drive, /boot/logs.
