April 29, 201214 yr hello all i recently had a hard shutdown (could not shut down the array as drives were stuck at unmounting). now trying to boot, unraid starts however i see that only 2 of my 14 drives have mounted.... i believe a parity check is currently running ( i can see this through unmenu ) likely due to the bad shutdown... i realize i need to have a parity check, however is there a way to stop it until tonight? since my unraid main menu only let's me 'refresh' ie no other options are available because the array is not up, due to the 'mounting' of my other 12 drives... any advice? edit: ok 2 more drives have just mounted, i guess something is causing them to take awhile to mount? sorry to be such a super newb!

After a hard crash, the disks must replay their file-system journals before they can finish being mounted. Just be patient. I've seen 20 minutes or more in the past, and if you have a lot of disks, it could take even longer. Just don't make it worse by rebooting in the middle of their mounting process. Joe L.
April 29, 201214 yr Author thanks joe, they just finished mounting! took 20 or 30 min... have to learn to be more patient! do you think its fairly safe to stop the parity check, then start again before bed?
