April 18, 20251 yr I'd like to use a 1gbe NIC to my router for general file access/playback and a 2.5gbe NIC to my PC for fast file transfers back and forth. How would I configure this in Unraid network settings? Edited April 18, 20251 yr by newoski
April 19, 20251 yr Community Expert The speed difference is not that huge enough to think about complicated setups. Just deactivate the 1G card (in BIOS if possible, else turn off the port in UNRAID) and use the 2,5G one for everything. (even with 1G / 10G I would not even think about it) But if you really want it, just create a bridge in UNRAID containing both cards (will have the same IP but different MACs) and connect the 1G to the Router the 2,5G to your PC. (Beware: if UNRAID is off or elsewhere problematic, your PC will lose Internet access then because all of his packets have to be passed by unraid) You cannot use a switch in this setup, or at least, do no connect both devices to the same switch, else you will get a loop and regret it very fast) Edited April 19, 20251 yr by MAM59
