April 20, 20251 yr Hey everyone, I’ve noticed that my Unraid server becomes practically unusable whenever I start large file transfers over SMB. The network connection doesn’t completely drop, but everything becomes extremely slow — sometimes the web GUI barely responds or stops responding altogether. Other services (like Docker containers or VMs) also freeze or lose connection. I suspect that SMB is consuming so much bandwidth or system resources that nothing else can get through. My network configuration is pretty simple — no VLANs or QoS — everything is mostly running on Unraid's default settings. Has anyone experienced similar issues? Are there any known tweaks (e.g. SMB settings, tunables, or network configurations) that might help? Or could it be a problem with the driver or network card? Here are a few key specs from my setup: Unraid Version: 7.0.1 Network: eth0: 2500 Mbps, full duplex, MTU 1500, connected directly to the router/switch Transfers via Windows 10 SMB client Hardware: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. B660M DS3H DDR4 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12400 @ 2475 MHz 32 GiB DDR4 I’d really appreciate any tips or if someone could share their experience! Best regards unraid.log inet-server-diagnostics-20250420-1029.zip Edited April 20, 20251 yr by mezzanin

Yes, this happens regardless of whether I'm saving directly to the disk share or to the regular shares. Could it be an issue with my router? Maybe the built-in switch is the bottleneck because of all these crappy all-in-one features? I'm using a FRITZ!Box 6660 Cable. Or should I try a different network driver instead?
