With the array running type:

btrfs balance start -f -dconvert=single,soft -mconvert=dup,soft /mnt/cache

When that's done, and with the array still running, type:

btrfs device remove missing /mnt/cache

Then you just need to reimport the pool with remaining device, stop the array first.

On main click on the first device for that pool and then "remove pool"
back on main, create a new pool with the same name and 1 slot
assign the pool device(s), leave the filesystem set to auto
start the array to import the pool

Hi Thank you for your reply , sorry that i didn't reply earlier as i have bee away for a few days.  i followed you solution by  pasting the script in to unRaid terminal (hope that this correct) Then the second script there was indication that any thing had happened.  I then  went to the next step and  stopped the array and follwed the info.  I received  the same error and still have the same issue.

As a newbie could you please explain where i am going wrong, shoould there be some indiaction  does the script just work in the background or have installed the script wrongly?

Thanks for your help .

Pool still looks the same, let's try one step at a time:

Now, and with the array still running, type:

btrfs device remove missing /mnt/cache

Then you just need to reimport the pool with remaining device, stop the array first.

On main click on the first device for that pool and then "remove pool"

assign the pool device(s), leave the filesystem set to auto
start the array to import the pool
