Server has high processor usage and gui is not responsive

Featured Replies

I've been having an issue with my server. Every 1 to 3 days the server will become unresponsive, I usually notice in when I go to watch something on Plex and it won't load. When I check the server the fans are running full blast like it is under a heavy load.  Most of the times when I try to login to the web interface it won't load, this morning it actually let me log in but I was unable to get any of the pages to load.  I am attaching the diagnostics, I don't know if they will do any good since I haven't been able to grab diagnostics when the server is actually acting up.

I got a syslog server set up Friday morning and started the logging. It crashed again a little while ago. I took a look at the logs and nothing is jumping out at me. I see I need to reset my mail password and that the cable to my ups is unplugged.  Maybe I am missing something or don't have the logging level set correctly.

Unfortunately, there's nothing relevant logged, this can also be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.

I would also recommend upgrading to the latest stable, 6.12.15 or 7.0.1 first.
