My first time seeing one of my drives being "Unmountable: Wrong or no file system"

Featured Replies

Since a while I don't use my Unraid server that much as I used to and this week I noticed one drive in the stat of "Unmountable: Wrong or no file system". The SMART test comes back as in very good condition, noting specific, but I can't seem to figure out what the issue might be why this drive acts like this.

I never took drives out and this thing is basically running for six months, except some maintenance to get dust buildup out of the system.
I tried to understand from other topics what I could do, but I guess not every case is the same and need the same solution.

I did learned that it's best to add the diagnostics zip file to the topic, so I did.
Hopefully I can make this drive spin up like before, because I have no clue what is on it.
Thanks in advance.

You should start by running a check file system as mentioned in the online documentation for a drive that shows as unmountable

I've just done this until I saw the option "Zero log", started the array and didn't mount the drive. I guess hitting that "Zero log" is the only option left?

Just hit "Zero log" and it gave a positive message and after a double check, it mentioned "No file system corruption detected"!

Thanks a lot, I was afraid to loose some things on that drive and I should add some extra in case something bad happens since this drive utilized for 72%, so quite a lot. Dodged a bullet this time.
