Unraid 7.0.1 - Cannot remove pool with Filesystem "vfat"

Featured Replies

Hallo,

It's my first setup of an Unraid-Server and I am stuck. I assembled the hardware, then installed for testing

Windows 11 onto  a ssd. The Hardware works fine. Then I configured Unraid for the first time anf fell into a trap. I forgot about cleaning the SSD with the windows partitions. I was conviced, that Unraid will do all this cleaning automatically, but I was wrong. I intended to created a cache pool with filesystem zfs, attached the SSD with the Win-Partition as first device to new created pool. To my surprise the FS of pool

was not zfs but vfat. The result was: nothing was possible. The pool is not removable, the array cannot be starten. New Config Tool maked nothing.

I then cleared the Win-Partitions, but without success.

I supervised the Server with "tail -f syslog" and with "top" when I tryed to remove the pool, but nothing happend.  The option to set the FS is grayed out.

It is save to edit /config/pool onto flash drive and remove the  pool or only changing the FS to a supported FS?

Regards

Bernd

Click on the pool, then click "Erase Pool", then click "remove pool", back on main add a new pool with the same name, now add the device back and format, that shoudl do it.
