The router lists the server as Super Mircro Computer, 192.168.253  that IP  opens the login for super mircro

I sent the IP shown on the Galaxy tablet

I understood that. What I was asking is what was the complete IP the router listed for this:

And I should assume that the router we are talking about here is the new router? Or the old router? That is the question I am trying to get the answer to.

And I am trying to get the answer to this:

What is the complete IP address that you mentioned in this earlier post:

As an update to this, I reconnected the old router in an effort to establish where the issues were, both my servers GUI's came up instantly and I logged into them.

On reconnecting the new router neither servers GUI is contactable, that would at least indicate to me this problem is not an unraid problem.?

Grateful for your views

I think you probably meant that the first number of that IP address was 192, the second number of that IP address was 168, and the fourth number of that IP address was 253. We are missing the third number.

Everything we have discussed refers to the new router..............the only time the old router was reconnected was my attempt to validate unraid against the settings of the new router.

The NEW router lists main unraid server, it names it Super Micro Computer Inc, and gives it IP 192.168.50.253  , this address just appears to produce a login to Super micro.

You asked if I had another device and I stated my Galaxy Tablet and I provided its IP 192.168.50.228

I am only able to manage this currently from the asus phone app which is fairly limited, I would like to access the Asus GUI but I am advised that will likely require a default reset,  that is not something I really want to do but I need the router to adopt its default IP number

This is the IPMI IP, we need the server IP, you can get from the diagnostics or the login screen after boot.

Doesn't know how to access the server on the network, and not able to attach monitor and keyboard for some reason. Would have saved us a lot of time.

The only reason I was trying to get the third number of the IPMI IP was to establish that 192.168.50... was the address range probably used by the new router, and he has been expecting to connect to it with a 192.168.1... IP

@TopTrainer

Since you were able to see the IPMI IP in the router, can you also see your tablet IP there? What other local IPs (192.168.x.x) are shown in your new router?

If there's IPMI you should also be able to access the server via that, it's the same has having a monitor and keyboard connected, for older Supermicro boards, the username and pass are both ADMIN, for newer ones, there's a sticker on the board with the pass.

I managed to log  in as you have said above but it required me to install some additional java software which I did not want to install on the server, I will connect the server on the old router provide diags and start again

I did not pursue it far enough to find out, as soon as I save the word Java, I knew I did not want that installed on my desktop or the server.

Both of your systems have fixed IP addresses in the 192.168.1.x range.    If the new router uses addresses in the 192.168.50.x range then that would explain why you cannot connect to it.

To fix this then the easiest thing to do is to edit the config/network.cfg files on the flash drives to use the new range, or to set them to use DHCP.

It is normally recommended that the servers are set to use DHCP, and if you want them to always have the same address reserve the relevant address for them on the router itself.
