Unraid 7.0.1 - Unraid webserver/GUI and array no longer starting up after reboot.

Featured Replies

So here's the situation I find myself stuck in.

I have a btrfs pool with 4 external drives (2x 10gb, 2x 8gb).    I was having trouble with one of the drives, so I removed it from the pool to run some tests on it.     A few days later I was going to add the drive back to the pool.     I was having trouble getting the array to stop, so I just had it do a reboot instead, figuring I had a connection open somewhere.

Only now, when it reboots, the array won't start at all.    The webserver doesn't start, so I have no GUI to log into, although I am able to ssh into the machine with no issue.     I did some digging through the logs, and I did find this one error:

May  6 23:08:36 ennisranch emhttpd: pool_state_btrfs 3167 rdevStatus.35 not found

I would expect this because that pool is missing the drive.    But I don't know if that preventing everything from starting up or not.

The only other errors I found in the syslog were these:

May  6 23:07:51 ennisranch kernel: ACPI Error: No handler for Region [SYSI] (00000000cdf5a9e0) [IPMI] (20230628/evregion-131)
May  6 23:07:51 ennisranch kernel: ACPI Error: Region IPMI (ID=7) has no handler (20230628/exfldio-261)
May  6 23:07:51 ennisranch kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PMI0._GHL due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20230628/psparse-529)
May  6 23:07:51 ennisranch kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PMI0._PMC due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20230628/psparse-529)
May  6 23:07:51 ennisranch kernel: ACPI: \_SB_.PMI0: _PMC evaluation failed: AE_NOT_EXIST

I read elsewhere these errors were nvidia driver related, and I am using an GTX 1650 in my PowerEdge r720.     But I've been running with this setup for awhile now, so not sure if this is related or not.

Since I can ssh into my server without issue, I went ahead and generated a diagnostics file which I've attached here.   Would appreciate any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot this.

There's a problem with the pool cfg file, delete /config/pools/e---a.cfg on the flash drive then reboot, then post the output from

btrfs fi show

Thank you JorgeB.   Getting rid of that pool config file is letting it startup properly without the pool.

Here is the output from the btrfs fi show command.    I do see my 4 pool drives listed.

The second drive in my pool is the one I had temporarily taken out and was trying to put back in.   You can see how it has slightly less used space relative to the first drive.

create a new pool with the same name and 4 slots
assign the pool devices, leave the filesystem set to auto
start the array to import the pool, any issues post diags after

Everything looks good after re-importing the array.    Thanks JorgeB!
