Hello all, Fix Common Problems notified me of this "Share appdata set to use pool cache, but files / folders exist on the cabpool pool". In following the "more information" link it directs me to a Feb 19. 2022 by @Squid

I am running v7.1.1 and not really able to follow the instructions provided as they seem for older versions. Are there any updated versions of directions available?

greatly appreciate the help.

post your diagnostics so we can see, but in all actuality, you have files/folders from a cache only share on the array disks somewhere.

To fix this, click on the share(s) in question, set the following:

PRIMARY STORAGE:   CACHE
SECONDARY STORAGE: ARRAY
MOVER:             ARRAY -> CACHE

then run mover

The FCP error is complaining about files on ‘cabpool’ which is not meant to be part of the ‘appdata’ share.

To clear get the files moved from ‘cabpool’ to ‘cache’ you need to have:

primary:cache

secondary:cabpool

mover:cabpool->cache

only when the ‘cabpool’ files have been moved do you want the secondary:array setting.    However even then make sure that the mover direction is correct - you seem to have it the wrong way around for both the ‘system’ share at the moment.

the alternative (which might be easier) is to move them from cabpool to cache manually using Dynamix File Manager (built into Unraid 7.

Thank you @itimpi I've been searching for the Dynamix File Manager without luck. is it just the copy/move functions of the Share? Sorry for the newb questions, still getting familiar with UR. So select those directories, select Move then to the cache?

Check the three boxes on the left side next to each folder, then click move, then move them to cache/appdata.

this will move them from cabpool to cache

Yes - or the disk/pool on the Main tab.  Which you use depends on whether you are transferring files/folders between User Shares or physical drives/pools.

@itimpi and @MowMdown thank you both for the direction. Did as suggested and all came up as expected. Appreciate the help!
