Fresh install: set password is not accepted / your flash drive is corrupted or offline

Featured Replies

Hi, im trying to install a new unraid server.

Brand new flash drive (Samsung PRO Plus microSD-card + USB-card reader, 128 GB, like in CT 3003's video), i already used a second one of the same type.

After formatting the flash with unraid usb creator and booting up the server it asks me for password. Then it takes forever and does not accept the password. If i click multiple times on "set password" it takes me to the unraid gui. there "your flash drive is corrupted or offline" appears. i tried different unraid versions and also the manual installation method and different usb ports on the server.

Do you have any idea why this happens?

If i try one of my old flash drives there are no issues like this on the same server.

Attached is my diagnostics.

Thank you in advance.

Regards, macc

Edit: i just found out that if i use an usb 3.0 port it does not give the errors and works like normal. only on usb 2.0 ports the errors appear. You have any idea why?

No idea.   If anything I would think the other way around was more likely.   Might be worth checking if your motherboard has a BIOS update that might be relevant.

I contacted the manufacturer and they provided me with a new bios. It is still not solved but I think it will be an bios / mainboard issue.
