May 11, 20251 yr Total noob here that's trying to transition from Synology to Unraid. I've built a new system and now trying to get Unraid up and running. I created the Unraid boot USB, set a static IP which shows up on the initial boot. However when i try to connect to it VIA my windows PC it times out. I tried just using the DHCP, and I get "IP - Not Set". I've tried multiple different versions of Unraid, tried different static IPs and nothing allows me to connect to this new system from my windows PC. I believe have a Realtek controller (RTL8125) which I read may be an issue. I have a USB to ethernet adapter on order that I'm going to try tomorrow and maybe it'll allow my system to connect to the internet to download the Realtek plugins. I tried running unraid on my windows PC that i know has internet connection and it's actually giving me the same issue No IP. I wonder if it's because both of them use Realtek controllers (Windows PC has a x870 Taichi) I have attached the diagnostics. Just wondering if i'm doing anything else incorrect. The motherboard is a B850M GAMING X WIFI6E which is pretty new so maybe it's causing issues? unraid-diagnostics-20250511-0901.zip Edited May 11, 20251 yr by RezChi
May 11, 20251 yr ethtool has Link detected: no lspci has 07:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Recommend DHCP at least until you get an IP. Really better to reserve IP by MAC address in the router instead of assigning static IP.
May 11, 20251 yr Author Solution My unifi network isn't detecting the NAS system either when Unraid is booted. I've tried different ethernet cables, different ports on the switch, nada. I'll try the usb network adapter when it arrives and pray to the Unraid jesus.
