Mounted SMB share not usable in container

Featured Replies

Hi,

I own a few NAS, one being my primary storage provider. I am transitioning to unraid.
In order to still use my old storage I mounted those old shares via Unassigned Devices.
The shares show up on the Main UI Dashboard, I can browse it via the remotes mount point.
I would like to enable a docker container to access those mount points. But in docker I can't set the path, it won't display when using the graphical interface to selected the path. Even with a privileged container the remotes won't show.
What am I missing here?

It is possible to add a remote path.

When adding a path, on the host path, click on the ".." to go one step up in the tree and select "remotes"

Thank you for your answer and the screenshots. This just confirms my issue: remotes is not there.

I have my two disks and user, nothing else.

I was quite sure that it should be there, hence the post above.

The folder is just not there. I just took the screenshot using my donate container but it is the same for every other...can't find remotesScreenshot_2025-05-12-19-32-37-084_com.android.chrome.thumb.jpg.21e8967812c7005d62d0ee802da94441.jpg

Going from the main ui I can see the mount points in remotes.IMG_20250512_193441.thumb.jpg.0211d89551b711a376506a92ebf4d221.jpg

I am running 7.0.0 2025-01-09.-

Is there something in the smb share config I am missing?

Maybe the automount toggle ?

I can see a though process where having it disabled prevent its integration in docker paths. But I tried to deactivate it and still see the share in Docker paths.

Maybe some setting of the plugin rather than the mounted remote share ?

Here is the section I think would apply on my system :

But I think you have more chance to receive good information in the plugin support page.

Thank you for your reply. Your settings look a lot like mine, except for destructive mode.
I will create a new post on the unassigned devices thread, thanks.

Oh, that's not something that I should not keep active all the time. 😅
